Uganda Gorilla Trekking Permit Increased From $700 To $800

Uganda Gorilla Trekking Permit Increased From $700 To $800

Gorilla Trekking Permit Increased – Uganda has recently announced an increase in the gorilla trekking permit from USD 700 to USD 800  for both national parks that include Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

This is effective from 1st July 2024 until further notice as officially communicated by Uganda Wildlife Authority.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, boasts over 400 mountain gorillas, representing almost half of the world’s remaining population. Trekking through the dense rainforest of Bwindi, visitors can encounter these majestic primates in their natural habitat, observing their behavior and social interactions.

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, located in the Virunga Mountains, is another prime gorilla trekking destination. This park is home to a small population of mountain gorillas, as well as other wildlife species such as golden monkeys and various bird species. Trekking in Mgahinga offers stunning views of the surrounding volcanic landscapes, adding an extra dimension to the gorilla trekking experience.

Both parks offer guided gorilla trekking tours led by experienced rangers, ensuring the safety of both visitors and gorillas while providing educational insights into conservation efforts and the importance of protecting these endangered creatures.
